Cats can be one of the best pets to have in your home. They don’t take up too much space and they do the funniest things. However, they can also be picky. Here are some things you may be doing that your cat hates. Learning your cat’s likes and dislikes will make for a better living situation for both of you.
Being Too Loud
It can be difficult to always keep the volume down in your home. Especially when you have kids. However, cats appreciate it when you keep them in mind before blasting the stereo or turning the vacuum on right next to them. Move your cat to a quieter space beforehand. Your cat will be thankful. Too Much Attention

Being Alone All Day
Cats may be independent animals. However, they do not like being alone. This may be one of the worst things you may be doing that your cat hates. It may seem like they enjoy being alone when they spend most of the day asleep. However, this is just because they need a lot of sleep. When your cat is awake, make sure to spend time with them. All cats need exercise, so you can spend 10-15 minutes playing with them each day. Make time to also pet them whenever they ask for attention. Doing these things will help them feel happier. Dirty Litter Box
There is almost nothing worse than having to use a gross and unsanitary bathroom. Cats don’t like doing this either. Cats love being clean. They even spend a large chunk of their day cleaning themselves, so keep their litter boxes clean. Try to clean it out every day or at least every other day. They’ll be thankful and so will your house guests.
Keeping Your Home Cold
Do you like to keep your home as cold as the produce section of the grocery store? If so, you may be punishing your cat. Cats love warm temperatures. That’s why they spend so much time laying out in the sunny spots of your home or outside. If you are going to have a cat, learn to live with them and turn the thermostat up a bit. Anything around 70 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal for most cats.
Rubbing Their Belly
Does your cat roll around and show you their belly? This means they trust you! However, do not touch their belly. While dogs love belly rubs, cats do not. Cats hate this and they may view it as a violation of their trust. Rub their head instead or pull out their favorite toy because it could mean they want to play.
